Heading into the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Friday Night SmackDown’s overnight number was nearly identical to the prior week.

Friday’s episode averaged 1,893,000 viewers on its overnight figures on Fox. The show saw an average of 1,919,000 viewers during the first hour and 1,867,000 in the second hour featuring the main event between AJ Styles and Matt Riddle for the Intercontinental title.

In the 18-49 demo, hour one averaged a 0.5 and the second hour did a 0.4 rating.

The final number will be released on Monday reflecting the entire country. The show is on pace to finish under two million viewers for the third consecutive week.

Last week’s show finished with 1,900,000 viewers and a 0.5 rating in the main demographic.

There is a clear emphasis on placing marquee matches on television with Styles vs. Riddle on Friday’s episode and next week’s advertised “Bar Fight” between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus.
