NJPW STRONG: Winner of the New Japan Cup USA tournament

Friday's episode of NJPW Strong featured the finals of the New Japan Cup USA tournament with KENTA facing David Finlay.

KENTA was victorious of the New Japan Cup USA tournament defeating David Finlay in the finals that aired Friday on NJPW Strong.

KENTA won the match after hitting the Go to Sleep and proceeded to cut a promo asking, “Where’s Jon Moxley?” KENTA stated he was coming for Moxley and was presented with a briefcase for the future IWGP United States title match. This concludes the eight-man tournament where KENTA defeated Karl Fredericks and Jeff Cobb prior to meeting Finlay in the finals.

During the post-match promo, KENTA was attacked by Jeff Cobb before he fled the ring and proceeded to walk to the back. This stems from KENTA’s win over Cobb in the semi-finals the week prior after using a low blow leading to the Go to Sleep. Cobb lifted the briefcase indicating he wanted a shot at the briefcase to determine who gets the next title match.

The show also featured Brody King & Flip Gordon defeating Jay White & Chase Owens after King dropped Owens with a piledriver for the victory.

After the match, Hikuleo appeared and attacked King and Gordon.

In the opener, Rocky Romero & Adrian Quest defeated Danny Limelight & The DKC after Romero hit a running shiranui and pinned The DKC.
