**Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) pinned Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to become No. 1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championships during the TakeOver pre-show triple threat tag team match, also featuring Legado del Fantasma.

**After the pay-per-view, Triple H held a conference call for media members. Triple H confirmed news that Joe Belcastro had moved on as lead writer NXT. Belcastro had been with the company since 2013.

I read some speculation about Joe Belcastro, who has been a lead writer of NXT for a long period of time and we have a great team here. Joe has been making contributions to NXT and I want to thank him for that. He’s going to move on to other things, much like anybody, he had some dreams he wanted to accomplish in life.” [h/t to Fightful]

During the call, Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman asked Triple H to share his thoughts on #FireVelveteenDream, and the outrage fans have shown regarding  WWE’s investigation on the allegations against Dream. Triple H shut the question down.

I mean we’ve talked about this. We said our peace on it,” Triple H stated. “I understand people’s positions and their feelings of something that they’re really just seeing accusations online. Nothing that needs to be said more on it again.” [credit Wrestling Inc.]
