Fenix is getting his shot at the AEW World Title, Sting saves Cody, Miro "fined" $75k, Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford's wedding and more.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega headlined tonight’s episode of Dynamite against Joey Janela. If Janela won the match, he would get a shot at the world title. Omega defeated Janela and post-match, he and Don Callis were confronted by Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero M & Rey Fenix). PAC revealed that on December 30th, Omega will defend the AEW World Title against Fenix. Fenix was supposed to face Omega in the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament but was replaced by Penta due to injury.

On next week’s episode of Dynamite which will air immediately following the Celtics vs. Bucks game, The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) are challenging The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Elsewhere on the tag team front, Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) are taking on MJF and Chris Jericho next week.

It was stated on Dynamite that Miro was “fined” $75,000 for his actions on last week show where he got involved in the Dynamite Diamond Ring match between Orange Cassidy and MJF. During his segment, Miro shared that the date of Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian’s wedding will be revealed.

Santana returned to action tonight after being off for several weeks. He recently lost his step-father. Following the announcement of Cody and Brandi Rhodes expecting a child, Cody took on Angelico and after scoring the win, he was about to be ambushed by Team Taz (Ricky Starks, Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs) but their attack was halted by Sting.

Additional matches scheduled for next week are Dustin Rhodes versus Evil Uno, PAC versus The Butcher, Jurassic Express (Marko Stunt, Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy) vs. Dark Order’s Colt Cabana, 10 and 5 and joining the lineup is the AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida in action.
