Ring of Honor announced that they’ve signed 2020 Pure Title tournament finalist Tracy Williams to a new deal. This week, ROH announced the re-signing of several talents including Bandido, Mark Haskins, Amy Rose, Brian Johnson and Sumie Sakai.
Tracy began working with Ring of Honor in 2018 following his departure from EVOLVE where he had been for four years. Several months into his ROH run, Williams was placed in the ‘LifeBlood’ faction which once consisted of Juice Robinson, Bandido, Tenille Dashwood, Mark Haskins and David Finlay.
Williams is now aligned with Rhett Titus, ROH World Tag Team Champion Jay Lethal along with fellow tag champion and ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham as a part of The Foundation. Williams defeated Rust Taylor (NXT’s Tyler Rust), Fred Yehi, Jay Lethal and lost in the finals of the Pure tournament to Gresham. Below is ROH’s write-up about Williams’ re-signing:
Ring of Honor is pleased to announce that “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams has re-signed with the company.
One of the top pound-for-pound grapplers and strikers in pro wrestling, Williams is among those at the forefront of the pure wrestling revolution in ROH and is coming off the best year of his 11-year career.
He made it to the finals of the recent Pure Title Tournament, where he engaged in a technical wrestling classic against Jonathan Gresham. Williams had defeated two-time former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal in the block finals.
Subsequently, Williams, Gresham, Lethal and Rhett Titus formed The Foundation, a faction committed to restoring honor to ROH.
Williams made his ROH debut at Survival of the Fittest in 2018 and signed with the company shortly thereafter.
Elsewhere on the ROH front, the company parted ways with Marty Scurll this past week. To read more about that, check out POST Wrestling’s published article on the topic.
