John Pollock & Wai Ting review Rocky V (1990) as a recently retired Rocky Balboa struggles with the effects of head trauma, financial loss and fatherhood while training fiery young boxer, Tommy “The Machine” Gunn.

In what is unquestionably the worst film of the franchise, we discuss its poorly-handled plot that lazily introduces yet never fully realizes Rocky’s struggles, the castings of unknown actors Tommy Morrison and Sage Stallone, Don King parody George Washington Duke, as well as the film’s disappointing box office performance when compared to its predecessor.

Synopsis from Google:

Rocky, a one-time champ, hits rock bottom when he takes on a protege who unfairly wrested away the title from him. In spite of suffering brain damage, Rocky is ready for a rematch.
