AEW releases brackets for the Women’s Eliminator Tournament

AEW has released the brackets for the Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament that begins tonight.

AEW has released the brackets for the Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament that begins tonight.

The tournament has been divided into the United States and Japanese brackets with half the tournament being filmed overseas and the Japanese finalist coming over to the U.S. for the finals.

On the U.S side, the following opening-round matches have been announced:
– Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa (airing tonight on Dynamite)
– Serena Deeb vs. Riho
– Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose
– Dr. Britt Baker vs. Anna Jay

The Japanese bracket has the following first-round match-ups:
– Yuka Sakazaki vs. Mei Suruga
– Veny vs. Emi Sakura
– Maki Itoh vs. Ryo Mizunami
– Rin Kadokura vs. Aja Kong

Earlier this week, it was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the Japanese matches are being taped at the Ice Ribbon Dojo in Japan with a closed set. Meltzer added that AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida is in Japan to assist with the tapings.
