Riddle wins WWE United States Title at Elimination Chamber

Riddle wins his first piece of championship gold since his move to the WWE Raw brand.

The United States Championship was on the line in a Triple Threat match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Bobby Lashley walked into a three-way as champion against Riddle and John Morrison but Riddle left as the victor and new United States Champion.

John Morrison earned his way into the match by winning a four-way on the Kickoff show. The conclusion of the U.S. Title match saw Lashley lock in the ‘Hurt Lock’ on Morrison but Riddle came from behind with MVP’s crutch and hit Lashley over the back with it. Riddle then hit his signature ‘Bro Derek’ maneuver on John Morrison to win his first singles title in WWE.

Originally, Keith Lee was scheduled for the U.S. Title match with Lashley and Riddle. PWInsider was first to report the news that Lee was pulled from the match. The site added that Lee was present backstage at the most recent edition of Monday Night Raw. WWE later confirmed that Lee was out of the match and a four-way would take place to determine his replacement.
