The first Blood & Guts match in company history led to AEW winning the night among all cable programming and finishing north of one million viewers.
Wednesday’s show finished with an average of 1,090,000 viewers and 0.42 in the 18-49 demographic finishing ahead of all cable programming Wednesday. It was AEW’s second-best 18-49 number of the year trailing the April 14th rating where they ran unopposed for the first week with NXT moving.
For comparison purposes, we looked at the past two weeks of Dynamite numbers.
For overall viewership, they improved by 22.6 percent this week, although were down 1.3 percent from two weeks ago. In the 18-49 number, they increased 27 percent this week and 13.5 from two weeks ago.
In the 18-49 demo, they increased 27 percent from last week and 13.5 percent from two weeks ago. The 18-34 demo did big with a 0.58 this week, up 35 percent from last week and an increase of 16 percent from two weeks ago. Males 12-34 jumped 69 percent from last week and 47 percent compared with April 21st.
There were two demos that Blood & Guts did not outperform from the April 21st show as females 12-34 were down from 0.14 two weeks ago to 0.10 this week. Adults 50+ improved from last week’s rating but dropped 10.4 percent from two weeks ago.
After four weeks running with head-to-head competition from NXT, AEW has averaged 1,075,000 viewers and 0.39 in the 18-49 demographic.
In Canada, Dynamite averaged 161,000 viewers on TSN 2, which was up from 92,000 for last week’s episode.
