Wai Ting, WH Park and John Pollock review the 24th Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Black Widow (2021).

After myriad delays, Scarlett Johansson’s solo MCU film finally sees theatrical release. We discuss its effectiveness in fleshing out Natasha Romanoff’s backstory, the MCU introduction of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, #NotMyTaskmaster, pheromone locks, face swaps and more.

We also discuss the film’s controversial Disney+ “Day & Date” release, impressive opening weekend at the box office, as well as its disappointing second week performance.

Synopsis from Google:

Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy, and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
