All Japan Pro Wrestling held its Summer Action Series card at Korakuen Hall on Thursday featuring a title change.

Francesco Akira was making his first defense of the AJPW junior heavyweight championship and was unsuccessful, losing the title to Sugi.

The loss ended Akira’s brief reign after 26 days when he won the title on June 26th from Koji Iwamoto.

It was Sugi’s first championship in All Japan after becoming a freelancer earlier this year and ending his exclusive relationship with Zero1. He has been wrestling since 2003 and held championships in Michinoku Pro and Zero1.

Thursday’s show was headlined by Triple Crown holder Jake Lee defeating Shotaro Ashino. It was Lee’s first defense of the championship after winning the vacant title in a series of matches involving Kento Miyahara and Yuma Aoyagi on June 26th.
