NXT 2.0 leads to brand’s best viewership figures since April

The launch of NXT 2.0. was a success in its first week with the show finishing tenth among all cable programs for the night.

Fueled by the curiosity of the new look and feel of the show, the promise of a new NXT Champion being crowned, and the wedding between Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell led NXT to post its best viewership figure since April 20th.

The show averaged 770,000 viewers and 275,000 (0.21) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The increase from last week’s taped edition was 28 percent in viewers and 48.6 percent in 18-49.

On the Showbuzz Daily chart, every demographic showed significant increases led by adults 18-34 (0.06 to 0.12 or 100 percent), females 18-49 (0.08 to 0.13 or 62.5 percent), and adults 25-54 (0.16 to 0.25 or 56 percent).

The show was designed to introduce a lot of new characters with six performers making their debut on the show followed by Tommaso Ciampa winning the vacant NXT Championship, and the wedding.

In Canada, the show averaged 92,500 viewers and 38,700 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360, which was up 5 percent from last week. We don’t have figures for every week that NXT has aired on Sportsnet 360 but of the available data, this week’s viewership would be tied for second-highest and just behind the August 17th figure of 93,700
