Kicking off Monday Night Raw was the WWE Championship match between champion Big E and challenger Bobby Lashley. During the bout, while Big E was on the outside, he was surrounded by Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander who had on ‘Hurt Business’ apparel. This led to a brawl between New Day and The Hurt Business.

The fallout from the show opener led to a Steel Cage match for the WWE Title. Big E defeated Bobby Lashley to retain the title and post-match, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre came out and approached Big E.

A video aired on the program from Goldberg. He stated that is coming for Lashley after Lashley put his hands on Goldberg’s son at SummerSlam.

The reigning Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair hosted an open challenge. Doudrop answered the challenge but she lost the match after Eva Marie caused a distraction. When Eva got in the ring, Charlotte attacked her as well. When the show came back from commercial break, Eva was still in the ring and was confronted by Shayna Baszler who stomped Eva’s arm against the ring steps.

Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee returned to WWE TV for the first time since early August. He made quick work of Akira Tozawa.

There was a 24/7 Title match on the show as Ricochet challenged the champion Reggie. The match was ruled a disqualification after R-Truth and Drew Gulak got involved.

Damian Priest took on Sheamus in a No Rules match and he scored the win to retain the United States Championship.
