For the first time since NXT TakeOver 36, Dakota Kai competed in a match for the NXT brand. Kai scored a win over Cora Jade. Post-match, Kai was contemplating doing a double foot stomp onto a table that was positioned on top of Cora. She opted not to go through with the move.

There were two tag matches announced for the 11/9 NXT 2.0. Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin) are competing in a six-person tag against Io Shirai, Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro. In addition to that bout, KUSHIDA and Ikemen Jiro are teaming up against Diamond Mine’s Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed).

In the main event of NXT 2.0 Halloween Havoc, Bron Breakker fell in defeat to Tommaso Ciampa and did not capture the NXT Championship. Breakker appeared on the 11/2 show and bested Andre Chase. Post-match, Breakker stated that he’s willing to die while chasing the NXT Title.

Closing out the 11/2 NXT 2.0 was North American Champion Carmelo Hayes pinning Dexter Lumis to secure the win for himself and Trick Williams over Johnny Gargano and Lumis.
