RESULTS: Opening night of NJPW’s World Tag League

New Japan’s annual World Tag League began on Sunday at Korakuen Hall with six tournament matches including Tetsuya Naito’s return from injury.

Naito sustained a knee injury in his first and only match at the G1 Climax this year while wrestling Zack Sabre Jr. Naito missed nearly two months of action returning on Sunday to team with LIJ stablemate SANADA as part of the World Tag League.

On the first night, Naito & SANADA earned two points defeating Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI after Naito executed Valentia followed by the Destino on YOSHI-HASHI for the pin.

Below are the results from the first night of the World Tag League with each winning team earning two points:
*Tetsuya Naito & SANADA over Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI
*Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano over EVIL & Yujiro
*Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens over Great O-Khan & Aaron Henare
*Guerrillas of Destiny over Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma
*Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan over Yuji Nagata & Tiger Mask
*Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi over Minoru Suzuki & Taka Michinoku
*Non-tournament: Kosei Fujita and Yuto Nakashima fought to a 10-minute draw
