Roman Reigns to defend title against Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1

Brock Lesnar is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the Day 1 event next month.

Brock Lesnar is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at the Day 1 event next month.

After Reigns made quick work defeating Sami Zayn on Friday Night SmackDown following an attack on the challenger by Lesnar. Reigns submitted Zayn in 16 seconds with the proviso that the winner of the match would defend the championship against Lesnar at the January 1st event in Atlanta, Georgia.

The championship match at Day 1 is a rematch from the Crown Jewel event this past October in Saudi Arabia where Reigns retained the championship.

It was also announced on Friday’s edition of SmackDown that Kofi Kingston & King Woods will challenge The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Day 1.

*WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (champion) vs. Brock Lesnar
*WWE Championship: Big E. (champion) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
*SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (champions) vs. Kofi Kingston & King Woods
