The champion versus champion match for night two of Wrestle Kingdom 16 is now official

Champion versus champion official for night two of Wrestle Kingdom 16.

The main event of night one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 16 featured Kazuchika Okada challenging Shingo Takagi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Okada was able to end Shingo’s seven-month reign as champion.

With Okada’s win, he is moving on to night two of Wrestle Kingdom 16 to go one-on-one with Will Ospreay. The winner will be crowned the official IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

Ospreay had the vacate the title due to injury and since returning to the ring, he has proclaimed that he is the ‘real’ world champion of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

  • NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships: House of Torture (c) (EVIL, SHO & Yujiro Takahashi) vs. Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & YOH
  • KOPW Trophy — Four-Way Match: CIMA vs. Chase Owens vs. Minoru Suzuki vs. Toru Yano
  • STARDOM Showcase Match: Mayu Iwatani & Starlight Kid vs Tam Nakano & Saya Kamitani
  • IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships — Three-Way Match: Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask (c) vs. Rocky Romero & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori
