Bryan Danielson has been working with Red Velvet.

AEW’s Red Velvet has not lost a singles match in the company since the quarterfinal round of the TBS Championship tournament. Her opponent in that match was the current TBS Champion Jade Cargill, who Tony Khan confirmed is being mentored by Bryan Danielson.

Red Velvet was interviewed by the Miami Herald’s Jim Varsallone and shared that along with receiving help from Dustin and Cody Rhodes, she is also working with Danielson.

Thankfully, training-wise, the women are trained by Dustin [Rhodes]. So we train every week on the road with Dustin. I’ve also had some outside help as well from Cody [Rhodes], I’m getting a lot of help now from Bryan, Daniel Bryan, Bryan Danielson… But I think a lot of people have collectively helped us out a lot, especially the women, especially me. I’m very grateful for everyone who has put their hand into my career at AEW and helped me get to where I am today and even my trainer included. No matter what, even though I’m on the road, I still always follow back with my trainer, still follow back with J.B. [Cool — Velvet’s trainer], still follow back with La Rosa [Negra]. I had the chance of wrestling La Rosa on AEW and Mission Pro so, life goes full circle and I’m very blessed about that.

Velvet was later asked about one of her close friends KiLynn King. KiLynn has been competed for AEW since 2020 on their Dark and Dark: Elevation programs. Velvet went on to explain what KiLynn means to her and added that she hopes AEW brings KiLynn in more.

KiLynn [King] has a special place in my heart. She is one of my best friends. We started in the indies and we met up again in AEW and she — I say that she is like my little angel in disguise. She is such a big blessing. Every time I’ve had really big matches, somehow, some way, she is always there to support me down to when we got to tag for NWA, the first women’s pay-per-view. She’s very special to me, she’s one of my best friends. I wish her well, she’s gonna go very far. I hope we can bring her into AEW more. She’s great.

Currently on AEW programming, Red Velvet is caught in the middle of the program between Kris Statlander and Leyla Hirsch. They had a singles match in December that Statlander was victorious in and on the 1/26 Dynamite, Hirsch defeated Velvet.
