Rampage notes: Guevara versus Andrade, Women’s Championship contract signing

By: Dave LeClair

Rampage was taped on 3/23 in Bridgeport, CT after Dynamite. All matches were advertised in advance, as was the contract signing for the Britt Baker versus Thunder Rosa match.

Match Results:

  • Sammy Guevara defeated Andrade El Idolo to retain the TNT Championship
  • Wardlow defeated Nick Comoroto
  • Serena Deeb defeated Kayla Sparks in the five-minute challenge
  • Orange Cassidy defeated Anthony Bowens

Darby Allin and Sting helped Sammy Guevara during a post-match beatdown. Surprisingly, the two didn’t seem to hint at an upcoming match, though that seems to be the direction for the future. However, a trios match is taking place at Revolution first.

The wedge between Spears and Wardlow got a little bigger, as Spears claimed the powerbomb symphony wasn’t getting over. He also hit Wardlow in the hand while Wardlow was holding Aaron Solow. Wardlow didn’t attack Spears, but he definitely looked like he wanted to.

The contract signing didn’t have any significant news, but Britt Baker cut an incredible promo that made this a must-see match. Mercedez Martinez appears to have aligned herself with Rosa, as she put Jamie Hayter through a table (it took two tries during the live show, but they edited it to make it look like it happened on the first try).

During the Acclaimed rap, AEW edited out a Vladimir Putin mention from the live taping, wherein he compared Orange Cassidy’s popularity to that of Putin. Removing it makes sense as this was taped just before the invasion, and it would have been incredibly inappropriate with the current state of affairs.
