Rampage notes: Bucks versus Top Flight, TNT Champion Scorpio Sky appears

By: Dave LeClair

AEW Rampage was a taped show from the Colonial Life Arena in Columbus, South Carolina. It’s a packed show with several matches advertised including House of Black versus Feugo Del Soul, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson, The Young Bucks versus Top Flight, and Jamie Hayter versus Skye Blue.

Match Results:

  • The Young Buck defeated Top Flight
  • House of Black defeated Feugo Del Soul, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson
  • Jamie Hayter defeated Skye Blue

The Young Bucks faced off with Top Flight in a fantastic match filled with plenty of high-flying offense from both teams. The Young Bucks won with a BTE Trigger out of nowhere, pinning Darius Martin.

A short video package highlighted the slow transformation of Kris Statlander, which she described as “the other side of Kris Statlander.”

Dan Lambert cut a promo with Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky, and Paige Van Zant. The group made jokes about Sammy Gueverra and Tay Conti, which led to Sammy and Tay destroying Lambert’s SUV with sledgehammers.

Tony Schiavone was going to interview Hook, but Danhausen interrupted. Danhausen again attempted to curse Hook and failed. I love Danhausen and Hook and can’t wait to see where this goes.

Chris Jericho said the House of Black entrance “brings chills to my arms,” which is probably the ultimate endorsement. Speaking of House of Black, they took on Feugo Del Soul, Evil Uno, and Stu Grayson in a six-man match. As you’d expect, House of Black won, but not before the Dark Order and Feugo got some offense in. Chris Jericho called House of Black his “sports entertainer of the week” after the match.

Young Bucks cut a promo where they accepted FTR’s challenge for the 4/6 episode of Dynamite.

Skye Blue did battle with Jamie Hayter in a match to qualify for the Owen Hart tournament. After a back and forth match, Jamie Hayter ultimately picked up the win and earned a spot in the tournament.

A Penta promo followed the match where he reminded House of Black that they’re not done with Death Triangle.

Powerhouse Hobbs and Keith Lee participated in Mark Henry’s main event segment. Keith Lee said Keith Lee stuff in a very Keith Lee style. The pair had an incredible big man match. Hobbs had the visual win over Keith Lee, but Starks, Taz, and Swerve Strickland had the ref distracted. In the end, Lee was able to pull off the win over Hobbs.

A brawl took place after the match, which Team Taz got the better of. The brawl ended with Hobbs spearing Keith Lee through a propped-up table.
