REPORT: Cody Rhodes scheduled for surgery this week

Cody Rhodes is scheduled to undergo surgery for his torn pectoral muscle later this week, according to reports.

Fightful.com was the first to report that Rhodes is set for surgery this Thursday after a weight training incident led to him tearing his right pectoral muscle.

Rhodes did not wrestle as advertised on Saturday’s live event in Champaign, Illinois but did do a run-in, attacking Seth Rollins while wearing a suit. The next night, Rhodes wrestled Rollins at the Hell in a Cell event where a severely bruised right side of his arm and chest from the tear.

WWE acknowledged the injury at the start of the Hell in a Cell broadcast and would have been impossible to ignore given the visual from the injury.

It is unknown what Rhodes’ timetable will be for a return.

After Hell in a Cell went off the air, Rhodes addressed the audience at the Allstate Arena and indicated he would share more details the next next day. He added that it was solely his decision to wrestle with the torn pec muscle:
