Matt Hardy weighs in on the Danielson 'leg trap incident' that took place on AEW Rampage. Hardy says Danielson 'worked it the whole while'

Matt Hardy weighs in on the Danielson ‘leg trap incident’.

Going into AEW Double or Nothing, there was a brawl between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Jericho Appreciation Society on a Rampage taping on May 18th. During the brawl, Danielson slipped and his leg got caught between the ring and ramp.

It was noted by those in attendance that Danielson had been stuck for ten minutes. AEW later released footage of what occurred.

Matt Hardy guest appeared on ‘Drinks With Johnny’ and as they were conversing about blurred lines in wrestling and what’s legit and what’s not, he mentioned that Danielson’s leg got caught and he ‘worked it the whole while’, adding that Danielson is a master at making people believe.

I mean there was even — I feel like it was good for AEW Rampage. There was a thing where Bryan Danielson had his leg stuck between the ramp and the ring and people were freaking out about it and I got some people that texted me like, ‘Oh my God, is Bryan Danielson all right?’ I was like, ‘What?’ You know, I saw a video on the internet where people that were at the show were like, ‘Oh my God, Bryan Danielson fell and his leg got trapped and they couldn’t get him out and he was in there for 15 minutes and hope they’re not gonna have to take off his leg’ or whatever but like, it’s one of those things where literally, his leg slid in there and then he just worked it the whole while and people — it’s as real as he makes them believe it is, you know? And he’s a master at doing that.

That’s the new kayfabe. Manipulating information that people really can’t be sure of the validity of, you know? That’s the new kayfabe now.

While discussing his ‘Extreme Life of Matt Hardy’ podcast and collaborating with Conrad Thompson, Hardy said talks have been held about an appearance at Starrcast in Nashville and possibly doing a live podcast there. Hardy teased that maybe he’ll be involved in a match in some capacity and went on to mention Ric Flair’s last match.

There is definitely talk of us going out there [Starrcast in Nashville] and maybe doing a signing and maybe I do a live podcast and maybe even [be] involved in a match in some capacity, who knows? Maybe I could even end up in Ric Flair’s last match. It would be a pretty cool moment, yeah.

On next week’s AEW ‘Road Rager’, Matt and Jeff Hardy will be competing for the AEW World Tag Team Titles in a three-way ladder match involving The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) and the champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.
