Riddle is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

Riddle defeated Sami Zayn in the main event of Friday Night SmackDown from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to set up the title match on next Friday’s episode from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The stipulations were that Riddle would be banned from SmackDown if he lost to Sami Zayn, and receive a title shot if victorious.

Riddle won after stopping Zayn’s attempt at a Helluva kick and hit the RKO for the pin in 13:10.

After the match, The Usos attacked Riddle with the title challenger responding by using a kendo stick to clear the ring and end the show.

Reigns has only been defending the title at live events since becoming the double champion at WrestleMania 38 in April.

Next week’s match will mark the first time Reigns has wrestled on Friday Night SmackDown since last December.

Next week’s show will also feature Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss in a “Last Laugh Match” and Max Dupri will reveal the first member of Maximum Male Models.
