An update on the Eddie Kingston-Sammy Guevara situation.

Coming out of the August 25th episode of AEW Dynamite, it was brought up by Voices of Wrestling on their Patreon service that there was an altercation between Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara. Following up on that, F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer reported that Kingston had been ‘secretly suspended’ from AEW a few weeks ago because of the altercation.

In the F4WOnline report, it is noted that Kingston and Guevara had a verbal dispute and Kingston’s suspension is already over.

Kingston was contacted by PWInsider for a comment on the matter and he responded with the following:

You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong.

The site noted that Kingston and Guevara’s situation escalated while AEW was in Minnesota for the Quake By The Lake special. Eddie took issue with something Sammy said about his appearance during a promo and confronted him, but the two were separated.

Kingston did challenge Guevara to a match for ‘All Out’. He appeared on the latest episode of Phil Strum’s ‘Under The Ring’ podcast and continued to promote the match, stating that he did not know if the match was still happening and was just a matter of Guevara ‘signing the contract’.

At the 8/24 Rampage taping, Sammy teamed with Tay Melo to take on Ruby Soho and Ortiz.
