As reported by Brandon Thurston on today’s live stream of Wrestlenomics Radio, plans for WWE Day 1 in 2023 have been dropped.

This currently means there are no scheduled WWE premium live events between Survivor Series 2022 and Royal Rumble 2023.

Speaking on Sunday’s Wrestlenomics Radio, Thurston said:

WWE’s Day 1 premium live event isn’t taking place, according to multiple sources. The event, originally scheduled for January 1st, 2023, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, isn’t being rescheduled or rebranded.

There is no PLE for WWE expected between Survivor Series on November 26th and Royal Rumble on January 28th.

Thurston added that he could not confirm the reason, but stated that the cancellation might be linked to appeasing WWE’s business partner, NBCUniversal. Day 1 would have gone head-to-head with NBC’s last broadcast game of the NFL regular season.
