Dream Slam Weekly (Vol. 29) Hyper Misao and Miyu Yamashita Go to England

So, I want to cancel my subscription to the hurricane of the month club. Typically, the hurricane season ends by October, and with literally the days before I am supposed to finally get my revenge on international travel and go to Japan, Tropical Storm Nicole decided to saunter into the Caribbean and across Florida… the week of the mid-term elections. By the time this installment of Dream Slam goes live, I will literally be less than 24 hours before I am supposed to fly to Japan. Ask me how much packing I’ve completed? Thankfully, I don’t need to pack all my dead-of-winter clothes as autumn in Japan has been unseasonably warm, much like the rest of the world lately. 

Thankfully, I did lots of prep earlier this week, so I wouldn’t need to stress too much. There should be a special episode of POST PURORESU around the corner with my buddy WH Park as well that should be dropping soon as well. Going to NYC a few weeks ago for Rumble on 44th got me psyched up for this trip. Now that the weather has cleared up and the international airport has resumed service, it can finally set in that I will be in Japan come Monday. The first time back since January 2020 with a brand-new passport. My heart is ready, I just need my luggage to catch up.

For everyone traveling to New Jersey next weekend for the POST 5th Anniversary, safe travels and I hope I can make the next one!

I was in the audience at the Mae Young Classic when the chants to sign Mia Yim happened. She was one of the best women in NXT who never became champion. Match of the Week: Saki Akai vs. Maya Yukihi

With Saki Akai being one of the only women who regularly competes in DDT, I love it whenever she or ASUKA get a featured singles match on a DDT show card. The current TJPW Princess Tag Champion regularly competes in intergender matches in DDT and she’s part of the stable ERUPTION with Yukio Sakaguchi, Hideki Okatani & Kazusada Higuchi. This match with Yukihi, who has recently been venturing to the United States to participate in Deadlock Pro, is entitled “A Woman’s Fight.” What moved me to select it was that it simply showcased two women wrestling their hearts out in a promotion that is dominated by men. I just found it the right balance of violence and feel-good girl power for the week.
