Okada would be interested in a match versus Dwayne Johnson.

To promote the release of ‘Black Adam’ in Japan on December 2nd, there was an event held to promote it and on-stage were the voice actors in the Japanese dubbed version of the film, one of which is former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada.

NJPW has a recap of the event on their website. Okada’s appearance was a cameo. He was joined on stage by Taiten Kusunoki (voiced Dwayne Johnson) and Maaya Uchida (voiced Cyclone).

Okada looked at the life-size figure of Black Adam and joked that it looks like it can fight. When asked if he’d be interested in a match with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Okada said yes.

It looks like he can fight. He looks like he can do it [Okada joked about the Black Adam figure]. I think we can have a match… Well, as a fellow pro wrestler, I’d like to have a match with him [Dwayne Johnson].

Suzuko Mimori, Kazuchika Okada’s wife has done voiceover work. Okada received advice from her on how to approach the opportunity.

My wife is a voice actor, so she gave me advice on what to do. She told me, ‘Look at the expressions on people’s faces as they speak, and speak at the same temperature as them, and you’ll be fine.’ I said, ‘Okay, I’ll try that,’ and when I got there, the person was wearing a mask and had no facial expression, so I was a little nervous.

In January at Wrestle Kingdom 17, Okada will be challenging Jay White for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title
