AEW Dynamite ranked third among cable originals behind the NBA on Wednesday night with an increase in last week’s demo audience.

The December 7th edition of AEW Dynamite from Cedar Park, Texas, averaged 840,000 viewers and approximately 380,000 (0.29) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

Overall viewership fell 3% while the 18-49 audience was up by 10.5% from last week’s numbers.

AEW topped everything on cable except the NBA, airing head-to-head against the Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks, which averaged 1,018,000 viewers and 0.36 in the demo. Dynamite beat MTV’s The Challenge, which did 563,000 viewers and 0.26.

Those with Spectrum were impacted during the show. Spectrum issued an update just after 9:30 p.m. ET that the problem had been resolved, it is unknown how much of an impact this had on viewership for Dynamite:

In 18-49, males increased by 9% while females grew 14% to its highest number in three weeks.

Among adults 18-34, the audience was up 6%, strengthened by women in the demo growing 33% this week while males were down by 4%. It was the largest audience among women 18-34 since November 9th.

Adults 35-49 increased by 13% with a breakdown of male viewership up 18% and females increasing by 3% from last week.

A large decline was seen among adults 50+, which fell from 0.41 to 0.35 this week and led to the overall viewership experiencing a decline.

On TSN 2 in Canada, the show averaged approximately 68,000 viewers and 39,000 in the 25-54 demographic, which were up by 15% and 5% respectively. RDS Info did not have the show listed on its schedule and presumably, was only available through streaming for French-language viewers in the country.
