Tony Khan comments on his desire to keep MJF in AEW.

The reigning AEW World Champion is MJF and with the title in his possession, MJF is continuing to promote the ‘bidding war of 2024’, alluding to him becoming a free agent at that time and the offers he predicts he’ll receive.

After MJF returned to AEW at All Out, he stated in media appearances that he and Tony Khan reached an agreement to raise his pay but there was no time added to his contract.

TODAY.com has a feature story about MJF that includes comments from Khan and MJF’s fiancée, Naomi Rosenblum. Khan did not want to discuss the specifics of MJF’s deal but said he knows it’s a priority for AEW and for himself that MJF extend that deal.

Khan: It’s certainly something he knows is a priority for AEW and me personally.

In regards to MJF’s on-screen presentation and the crowd reactions he’s been receiving, he stated that he does not care if the crowd is behind him or against him.

MJF: However people view me — if I was an inherently good person or an inherently bad person — I can care less about. All I care about is that when the AEW faithful put their heads on their pillows, there’s only one person, one face, one name they’re thinking about. And it’s MJF.

MJF’s next title defense is taking place at Winter Is Coming on December 14th. He’ll be defending against Ricky Starks.
