He added that it’s great to have Imperium back together.

In April 2022, GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser made their debuts as members of WWE’s main roster. Giovanni Vinci, who was part of Imperium with GUNTHER and Kaiser, remained in NXT.

Vinci was reunited with GUNTHER and Kaiser at the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in Cardiff, Wales. As GUNTHER was speaking to The Dallas Morning News, he stated that it was ‘hard’ coming to the main roster without Giovanni. He’s glad he’s now able to continue this journey with two of his good friends.

First of all, it was, it was hard when only myself and Ludwig moved up and Gio kind of stayed behind. And being all together again is fantastic. Besides from the in-ring, it’s great to travel with your two best friends that you have and spend basically all day – if you travel a lot, that can be challenging at times, and it’s great that you can go through situations with two very good friends and you don’t have to do it on your own. So very blessed in that regard.

In the ring, I’m extremely proud of both. I think they worked really hard in NXT for a very long time. And now they’re on the platform that they deserve, and they deserve to be seen. They’re both very good wrestlers. They’re excellent wrestlers in the ring, I think there are just a very few that actually are in the same league with them when it comes to the actual in-ring mechanics. And I’m excited to see where their path will go.

On Tuesday, Stephanie McMahon shared that she is stepping back from the role of WWE’s co-CEO. GUNTHER said he’s only had brief interactions with her but he’s happy that she’ll be able to enjoy her time with her family.

To be fair, I only had very brief interactions with her. She’s always been very nice and very lovely. And yeah, I’m happy for her that she’s going to be able now to take time off and enjoy time with her family. And yeah, I think you should be happy for anyone who’s in a position to do that. All the best to her.

On that same front, he was asked for his thoughts about the rumors of a WWE sale and expressed that he’s focused on what takes place in the ring.

I mean, rumors are rumors. And at the end of the day, I’m not the CEO. I’m a wrestler. So, I focus on what I do in the ring and leave the business to the people that do business.

This Friday on SmackDown, GUNTHER is scheduled to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Braun Strowman. It is a matchup that GUNTHER is looking forward to because he’s facing someone who’s bigger than him and it presents a different challenge from the ones he’s used to.

So, that’s gonna be interesting, to be fair, because that’s a completely new challenge for me. I’m used to 99.9% of all the matches I’ve had in my career, I was the bigger guy or I wrestled someone that was, like, evenly sized. In this case, I’ll wrestle someone who’s physically strong and, obviously, heavier and bigger. So, that’s a completely new challenge for me, but I’m excited for it. It’s a new chance for me to prove that I fit in every situation, in every constellation, I can put on an exciting match for the audience. So, I’m looking forward to it. I think Braun is an excellent talent. For his size and his weight, he moves very well. He’s very agile. So, I’m excited for that. Looking forward to it.

GUNTHER has been reigning as Intercontinental Champion since June. He’s had six successful defenses since winning the belt.
