Three teams were invited to the New Day Invitational on January 31st. Those duos are: The Dyad (Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler), Edris Enofe and Malik Blade in addition to Andre Chase and Duke Hudson. The winners of the Triple Threat tag match will secure their spot in the Triple Threat for the NXT Tag Team Titles at Vengeance Day

Cameras cut the parking lot area where Nikkita Lyons was on the ground and holding her knee. On commentary, Vic Joseph stated that she was taken to a local hospital.

On the January 31st NXT, Stevie Turner, formerly of NXT UK is making her NXT U.S. in-ring debut.

Before getting into the New Day Invitational, both Hudson and Chase were present for Thea Hail’s award ceremony. That was interrupted by J.D. McDonagh. As the two parties were exchanging words, McDonagh called out Andre Chase for not mentioning Duke as one of the people who loves Chase University. During McDonagh and Andre’s match, Duke left the ringside area before Chase lost.

In addition to the aforementioned announcements, the following matches are set for 1/31:

  • Cora Jade vs. Lyra Valkyria
  • Indus Sher (Veer & Sanga) (w/ Jinder Mahal) vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) (w/ Ivy Nile)

Ahead of their Steel Cage match for the NXT Championship at Vengeance Day, Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller continued to go after one another. As they were brawling, Breakker attempted to spear Waller but did not connect and drove himself through a barricade.

Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne had been pretending they were at odds going into the NXT Women’s Title Triple Threat match at Vengeance Day. At the Championship Summit, they swerved Roxanne Perez.

Tiffany Stratton had her first televised match on NXT since the summer of 2022 and she picked up a win over Indi Hartwell.

Ivy Nile brought Drew Gulak and Hank Walker to train with The Creed Brothers. There was a scuffle between Gulak and Julius Creed which was to set up a tag between The Creeds and Gulak and Walker. The Creeds were on the winning end after Gulak got distracted by Charlie Dempsey.
