Maria Kanellis-Bennett is undergoing a procedure on Friday to have half of her thyroid removed.

The AEW performer stated in a post that she has been having symptoms since 2020 but was difficult to have taken care of between being a parent, going through the pandemic, and “multiple times being fired”.

Kanellis-Bennett stated she is now taking care of the issue after being alerted there are abnormal cells, which could turn cancerous if left untreated and/or lead to a heart condition. She added that she has the full support of AEW to take care of this issue and has been told she can work two weeks post-surgery without any restrictions.

Kanellis-Bennett debuted alongside husband Mike Bennett and tag partner Matt Taven at the 10/16 tapings of Rampage in Toronto following a run with IMPACT Wrestling following the expiration of their deals with Ring of Honor.

We wish Maria a quick and speedy recovery from today’s operation.
