The late Tim White will be the recipient of the Warrior Award at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

Kayla Braxton announced the award’s recipient during Wednesday’s edition of The Bump with White joining Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, Stacy Keibler, and Andy Kaufman among those being honored this Friday night.

White began working for the WWF in 1982 in its merchandise department before he became a full-time referee, which lasted until a career-ending shoulder injury.

He was also the traveling partner of Andre the Giant and was featured in many documentaries and specials on the late performer as White was a member of Andre’s inner circle.

White suffered a terrible shoulder injury in June 2002 during a Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Chris Jericho that kept him out of action for two years. Upon returning, he re-injured the shoulder and took a role behind-the-scenes with the company.

White died last June at the age of 68.

The Warrior Award was named after Jim Hellwig, who proposed the idea during his Hall of Fame speech in 2014. Warrior’s suggestion was to honor people in the company that have worked behind the scenes and name it the Jimmy Miranda Award. After Warrior died, they introduced the award in 2015 and named it after him.

Past honorees include Connor Michalek, Joan Lunden, Eric LeGrand, Titus O’Neil, and Shad Gaspard.

The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place at the Crypto.com Arena this Friday night after SmackDown and streams on Peacock and the WWE Network.
