Chris Jericho weighs in on if he thinks CM Punk will return to AEW, feels company will thrive with or without him

When asked if he thinks CM Punk will come back to AEW, Chris Jericho stated that the company will thrive with or without him

One of the subjects Chris Jericho weighed in on was CM Punk.

In late March, CM Punk took to his Instagram story and commented on matters related to All Elite Wrestling. One of his claims was that Jon Moxley outright said he would not be losing to him and Moxley’s name being included in Punk’s comments was something he addressed during his appearance on The Sessions with Renée Paquette

Among the other notes from Punk’s Instagram story is that he called Chris Jericho a liar and a stooge.

When Jericho was on The Mark Madden Show, he was asked if he thinks Punk will be back in AEW. Madden joked that he suspects Jericho and Punk are not on each other’s Christmas card list. Jericho stated that you don’t have to be friends to coexist, but whether Punk will be back or not is out of his wheelhouse. He said AEW will thrive with or without him.

You know, I’m not (on CM Punk’s Christmas card list) but I wasn’t on Scott Hall’s Christmas card list or I wasn’t on, you know, Eric Bischoff’s Christmas card list. You don’t have to be best friends to coexist so, to me, that’s not really my wheelhouse. I’m not in charge of that. I’m sure there will be some answers to that pretty quickly I would assume. Either way, but to us, AEW’s gonna thrive and survive with or without him so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

The main event of this past Wednesday’s Dynamite was the in-ring return of Adam Cole. He scored a win over Jericho Appreciation Society’s Daniel Garcia.

Chris Jericho came to the ringside area to help Garcia to the back, but refused to make eye contact with Adam Cole and Britt Baker who were in the ring. Jericho feels that was one of the best minutes in wrestling television this year.

I mean, I was on the show (3/29 AEW Dynamite) for about a minute but still, I thought it was one of the best minutes in wrestling television this year. That storytelling is what really excites me.

Looking at AEW’s talent roster, Jericho sees a lot of himself in current AEW World Champion MJF. He went on to speak highly of Daniel Garcia’s potential and feels there’s a huge upside to him.

Well MJF is one (that reminds me of myself), obviously. I think he’s probably the closest in being a well-rounded, developed character and also being pretty young. He’s much more higher up his own food chain than I was when I was his age. He knows way more what his character is and who he wants to be. I’ve been really impressed with Dani Garcia. I never really rated him at all until he came into Jericho Appreciation Society and you know, I thought he was good but now, his work is great, his character and he’s a really funny guy. He’s one of those guys who just has to bring that out a little bit more so I’m a big, big fan of his. Every time we put him in a clutch situation, he delivers in a big way so, I’m not just saying that from a bias standpoint but I think there’s a huge upside for Daniel Garcia.

Earlier this week, POST Wrestling welcomed Dave Meltzer onto one of our Mania Week shows to discuss his involvement in the latest regarding CM Punk and AEW. A clip of that can be watched here.
