Two championship matches have been announced for NJPW’s Road to Dontaku event later this month.

The 4/27 event from Hiroshima will feature a main event match-up where IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi defends his championship against Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

A challenge was issued by Kanemaru at the conclusion of Sakura Genesis when Takahashi confronted the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, SANADA.

Kanemaru is part of ‘Just Five Guys’ alongside SANADA, Taichi, DOUKI, and Taka Michinoku.

The 4/27 show will include an IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship defense by Francesco Akira & TJP against KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight.

The card also sees Tetsuya Naito take on DOUKI, which was set up at Sakura Genesis when DOUKI applied the DOUKI Choky on Naito and the two exchanged words after the match.

New Japan Pro Wrestling will also reveal the participants for this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament on 4/27 with the tournament set to begin on 5/12 and run until 5/28.

The Road to Dontaku series begins 4/20 with Wrestling Dontaku set for 5/3 in Fukuoka.
