NXT holds up against playoffs, strong female viewership

With a stronger slate of sports competition, NXT managed to post a three-week high in viewership.

The April 18th edition of NXT averaged 565,000 viewers and approximately 183,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic. (Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily).

It was NXT’s highest number since March 28 and represented increases of seven percent in viewership and eight percent in the key demographic.

In the 18-49 demographic, female viewership grew 46 percent from last week and was the largest audience in that demo since November 15, 2022. Males in the same demo declined by ten percent this week.

Adults 18-34 dropped by five percent while the 35-49 demo increased by 19 percent and adults 50+ were identical to last week.

NXT ranked #17 among cable originals (and ninth in its time slot), which was led by the NBA playoffs and featured multiple NHL playoff games.

NXT aired against the New York Knicks vs, Cleveland Cavaliers averaged 2.7 million viewers and 0.99 in the demo on TNT, as well as the Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics that did 520,000 and 0.18 on NBA TV.

The NHL playoffs airing head-to-head with NXT included the New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils (775,000 and 0.23) on TBS and Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (715,000 and 0.23) on ESPN.

In Canada, NXT streamed on Sportsnet Now with a replay of the show airing at 1 a.m. ET on Sportsnet 360 and did approximately 21,000 viewers and 6,000 in the 25-54 demo.

NXT will air the Spring Breakin’ special next Tuesday with Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller.
