NJPW has confirmed four championship matches for its Dominion card next month in Osaka.
After making a surprise return at Wrestling Dontaku, Yota Tsuji will challenge SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on 6/10 at Osaka-jo Hall.
It is easily the biggest match of Tsuji’s career, which was sent on an excursion in the summer of 2021, and spent the majority of his time wrestling for the Rev Pro group in the U.K. and CMLL in Mexico.
This will be SANADA’s second defense of the championship after winning the title at Sakura Genesis in April from Kazuchika Okada and defending it against Hiromu Takahashi at Wrestling Dontaku.
New NEVER Openweight Champion David Finlay will defend his belt against El Phantasmo, who attacked Finlay after the championship win against Tama Tonga. ELP appeared with a mask on before attacking Finlay, who escaped being hit by the CR II.
A three-way match for the IWGP Tag Team Championships is confirmed for Dominion as champions Aussie Open defend the belts against Bishamon’s Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI, and House of Torture’s EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi. The match was set up during Wrestling Dontaku when Kyle Fletcher stated that Bishamon deserved a rematch and knew House of Torture would never go away, so they proposed a three-way match.
A rematch is also set for the NJPW TV Championship as Zack Sabre Jr. defends the title against Jeff Cobb following their fifteen-minute draw at Wrestling Dontaku this week.
Jon Moxley will return at Dominion after an angle was shot during Wrestling Dontaku with Shota Umino confronting the new NEVER Openweight 6-Man champions Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tomohiro Ishii.
