The NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship, which will be won for the first time at Sunday’s Resurgence event, has been unveiled.

The belt was revealed during a press conference as Momo Kohgo and Willow Nightingale appeared to promote the one-night tournament that will take place at the event in Long Beach, CA.

Kohgo and Nightingale make up one of the semi-finals for the title, with Mercedes Moné and Stephanie Vaquer comprising the other side of the bracket. Moné and Vaquer were not present at the press conference.

The winners of each match will wrestle again to determine the inaugural champion.

The presser also included appearances by the contenders for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship, Hikuleo and KENTA.

Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi were also on hand to promote the IWGP United States Title No. 1 Contender tournament. The winner of that match will face Lance Archer at NJPW Dominion on June 4th, with the eventual victor going on to challenge Kenny Omega for the title.
