WWE Raw notes: Finn Bálor def. Carmelo Hayes, Giovanni Vinci returns, Cody Rhodes’ dog Pharoah appears

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins addressed his Money in the Bank opponent Finn Bálor on Raw. Ringside for Rollins’ segment was NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, who alongside Trick Williams, stopped Rollins from being further beaten down by Bálor at NXT Gold Rush week one. When Bálor went after Seth on the 6/26 Raw and they began to brawl, Hayes stopped Finn from taking a chair to the World Champion.

Later in the show, Hayes and Bálor went one-on-one and Bálor defeated the NXT Champion. Hayes is scheduled to defend against Baron Corbin at NXT Gold Rush week two on 6/27.

There was a non-title singles match between Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and Sami Zayn. The returning Giovanni Vinci hit Zayn with his crutch to assist GUNTHER to victory. Vinci has been out since the June 5th Raw during which Matt Riddle put him in an ankle lock. Post-match, Riddle, Zayn and Kevin Owens cleared Imperium from the ring.

Natalya called out Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley for the July 3rd Raw in Baltimore, Maryland.

Appearing alongside Cody Rhodes in a backstage segment was his dog Pharaoh.

The Miz and Tommaso Ciampa were scheduled to go one-on-one but Miz beat him down before the match began. He gave Ciampa a ‘Skull Crushing Finale’ on the outside.

Before Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defend the Undisputed Women’s Tag Team Titles against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan at Money in the Bank, Rousey faced Rodriguez in singles action and defeated her.
