IMPACT has announced the first match for its Multiverse United 2 event taking place in Philadelphia next month.

The new X Division Champion Lio Rush will team with former champion Trey Miguel against the team of Hiromu Takahashi & Speedball Mike Bailey.

Takahashi successfully defended the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Rush this past March at the New Japan Cup Final.

Rush won a rematch between the two in May at the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament. Bailey beat Rush during the same tournament.

The match was revealed during IMPACT’s Slammiversary broadcast.

Multiverse United 2 will take place on Sunday, August 20 from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and will be branded as IMPACT Wrestling x New Japan Pro Wrestling presenting the show.

The show will stream live on FITE TV.
