AEW Collision scored its second-largest audience while dropping in the key demographic for this past weekend’s show in Newark.

The July 22 show from the Prudential Center averaged 618,000 viewers and 237,000 (0.18) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston at Wrestlenomics.

It was a 7% uptick from last week’s audience and led to Collision achieving its largest audience since the debut episode on June 17.

However, the 18-49 audience dropped by 8% this week and was the second-lowest in Collision’s short history, only topping the taped episode from July 1 in Hamilton.

In the key demographic, women increased by 16% this week while males decreased by 18% to 152,000.

The 18-34 demographic yielded stronger results with the demo increasing by 21% with 98,000 viewers with males and females both increasing from the previous week.

The major drop was seen among males 35-49, which fell 33% this week to 91,000 viewers and is the first time that the male demo has dipped below 100,000 viewers in Collision’s run. Females in the 35-49 demo increased by 14% but not by enough to offset the loss of male viewers in the category.

Collision did not advertise a match involving CM Punk in advance, although a tag match was put together in the opening segment of the show. Punk teamed with Darby Allin against Ricky Starks & Christian Cage, which headlined Collision and took up the final half-hour of the program.

This Saturday’s show from Hartford includes an AEW Tag Title Match with FTR vs. MJF & Adam Cole and a Ladder Match between Andrade El Idolo and Buddy Matthews.

Collision was only available in Canada through the TSN+ streaming service and therefore, we don’t have viewership data for the show.
