IMPACT Wrestling returns with a pair of television tapings this weekend, plus the announcement of matches for Emergence, and a report on sales figures for Slammiversary.

On Thursday’s episode, it was announced that Deonna Purrazzo will receive a rematch with Trinity for the Knockouts Championship at Emergence next month in Toronto.

Emergence will also see an eight-man tag with IMPACT Champion Alex Shelley teaming with Chris Sabin, Josh Alexander & KUSHIDA against Bully Ray, Moose, Brian Myers & Lio Rush.

Plus, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA will be on the card in Toronto on Sunday, August 27 (which excludes SANADA from appearing at All In at Wembley Stadium).

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Slammiversary did more than 4,400 pay-per-view buys on television (not including digital buys), which is a major increase over last year’s figure of approximately 1,300 television buys for the event.

This year’s event was promoted around Alex Shelley defending the IMPACT Championship against Nick Aldis, Trinity challenging Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship, and Scott D’Amore wrestling in his hometown of Windsor.

IMPACT has television tapings at Cicero Stadium in Chicago on Friday & Saturday this weekend.

Friday’s show includes Bully Ray, Moose & Brian Myers vs. Laredo Kid, Black Taurus & Samuray del Sol (the former Kalisto), Chris Bey & Ace Austin vs. Rich Swann & Sami Callihan, Speedball Mike Bailey & Jonathan Gresham vs. Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz, and Kenny King vs. Yuya Uemura vs. Joe Hendry for the Digital Media Championship.

Saturday’s lineup includes Alex Shelley vs. Brian Myers for the IMPACT Championship, Trinity vs. Taylor Wilde, Bully Ray vs. Black Taurus in a No DQ Match, Chris Sabin vs. Samuray del Sol, Eric Young vs. Kon, KiLynn King vs. Deonna Purrazzo, and Moose vs. Kevin Knight.
