Post-SummerSlam edition of WWE Raw hits six week high

The post-SummerSlam edition of WWE Raw achieved its largest audience in six weeks.

The August 7 edition from Minneapolis averaged 1,888,000 viewers and 793,000 (0.61) in the 18-49 demographic – their highest number in both categories since June 26. (Data: Brandon Thurston at Wrestlenomics)

The show included a commercial-free first hour.

It was the sixth most-watched episode of Raw in 2023.

This week’s viewership increased by 7% while the key demographic grew by 14% from last week’s numbers.

In the 18-49 demo, female viewership rose by 17% to 250,000 while males increased by 13% to 543,000. It was Raw’s highest male audience in the demo since the night after WrestleMania 39 in April.

Adults 18-34 saw a 22% growth from last week with males up by 25% with 221,000 viewers in the demo, and females increasing by 16%.

Adults 35-49 grew by 10% from last week with 470,000 viewers.

Last year’s post-SummerSlam episode of Raw occurred on August 1, 2022, and had a commercial-free first hour. That show averaged 2,230,000 viewers and 797,000 (0.61) in the 18-49 demographic. This year, USA Network is in fewer homes with the latest numbers revealing that the cable network is accessible in 71,325,000 homes.

Due to Monday’s holiday in Canada, Raw numbers are delayed until Wednesday.

This past Friday’s episode of SmackDown averaged 133,300 viewers and 43,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. The show finished sixth among sports programs on Friday, led by the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox, and a CFL game between Toronto and Calgary.
