Kevin Kelly provides update on NJPW commentary status

Kelly notes that he’ll be leaving the position at some point.

For close to a decade, Kevin Kelly has been a commentator for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He is now the play-by-play commentator for AEW Collision on Saturdays.

New Japan wrapped up their G1 Climax 33 tournament on August 13th and are resuming events this Friday with their Destruction tour. Kelly was asked if he’s still with the company and on his X account, he noted that at some point, he will be gone from the role.

He plans on being on the call for NJPW Destruction in Ryogoku on October 9th, Wrestle Kingdom 18 and New Year’s Dash. Kelly added that he made the decision so he can be with his wife more.

Kevin Kelly’s partners on NJPW commentary over the years have been Chris Charlton, Don Callis and Rocky Romero among others.

While Kelly was calling the G1, Ian Riccaboni called the action for Collision alongside Nigel McGuinness.
