Tony Khan speaks with the media ahead of WrestleDream.

This Sunday, October 1st, AEW will be in Seattle, Washington to present their WrestleDream pay-per-view. Ahead of the event, Tony Khan hosted a media call and below are highlights (via F4WOnline):

  • Antonio Inoki’s family will be in attendance at WrestleDream
  • Khan was asked about Jade Cargill signing with WWE. He only has positive things to say about Cargill and reiterated that she’s always welcome in AEW
  • He’s open to there being more AEW events on a streaming service and it could be part of a new media rights package. That is out of scope with their current package
  • For now, MJF and Adam Cole defending the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) at WrestleDream is on. Khan will address Cole’s status on Wednesday coming off of Cole being hurt at Dynamite Grand Slam
  • Khan was surprised to see the rumors of him buying New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He says they’re great partners but he chose not to address his remark about there being an ‘end of an era’ at WrestleDream. Khan added that he has no intentions of clarifying that because he wants people to buy the pay-per-view
  • He’s open to Warner Bros. Discovery having a piece or a bigger piece when it comes to future negotiations about AEW. They’ve talked about it, but Tony owns and wants 100 percent of voting stock and decision-making
  • Khan states that Wardlow will be back on television when the time is right

As of this writing, here’s the updated WrestleDream card:

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
