Fight announcements for UFC 299 & UFC 300

Dana White made a pair of fight announcements on Sunday for the upcoming UFC 299 & UFC 300 events.

The March 9 event from Miami, Florida will now include a co-main event involving lightweights Dustin Poirier (29-8 1 NC) and Benoit Saint-Denis (13-1, 1 NC) and is scheduled for five rounds. It joins the card that will be headlined by bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley defending his championship against Marlon Vera.

Poirier fought once in 2023 with a knockout loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 291 in July for the ‘BMF’ Championship.

Saint-Denis has won five straight fights and is coming off three wins in 2023 with a submission of Ismael Bonfim last July and stoppage wins over Thiago Moisés and Matt Frevola.

White has also stated that former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is set to fight Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas.

Oliveira (34-9, 1 NC) was submitted by current lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in October 2022 but the 34-year-old bounced back with a TKO win against Beneil Dariush last June at UFC 289.

Tsarukyan (21-3) is 8-2 since entering the UFC and has been victorious in his last three outings against Damir Ismagulov, Joaquim Silva, and Beneil Dariush.

UFC 299 takes place on March 9 from the Kaseya Center in Miami and UFC 300 will be staged on April 13 from Las Vegas.
