Continental Crown Championship

Rampage kicked off with Eddie Kingston defending his Continental Crown Championship against Wheeler Yuta. For the first time, the announcers clearly stated that the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship, ROH World Championship, and AEW Continental Championship were all on the line in this match. This indicates that all three belts are tied together for the foreseeable future and leads to some questions, particularly about how the main title of Ring of Honor is tied up here.

Kingston and Yuta had a hard-hitting match with Yuta controlling a majority of it including hitting a DDT from the second rope that Kingston was only able to escape with a foot on the rope. Kingston finally was able to hit Yuta with the spinning back fist, exploder, and Northern Lights Bomb for the win.

The Brethren

Renee Paquette interviewed The Hardys and Mark Briscoe and mentioned that the people love them as a team. Jeff Hardy noted that Rampage beat Collision in the ratings; viewership and demo – all thanks to them. Matt said that he and Jeff wanted to win the Tag Team title but he could see Trios titles in their future. They then donned Mark with a Hardys necklace pendant with Mark looking a little unsure but then Matt referred to themselves as “The Brethren” and said the three of them would whoop anyone’s ass.

Swerve vs. Matt Sydal

Swerve took on Matt Sydal and Sydal was able to hang with Swerve albeit somewhat briefly as Swerve won with the JML Driver in under five minutes.

Top Action Flight

Renee Paquette interviewed Top Flight & Action Andretti who were promptly interrupted by Private Party who challenged any two of them to a match anytime. Action Andretti accepted and did his quick water chug spot.

Hikaru Shida vs. Queen Aminata

Next up was Hikaru Shida taking on Queen Aminata – a match that had happened before on Rampage back in November of 2022 with Shida coming out on top. The announce team brought up how Shida’s entire first Championship run was during their COVID era in this very amphitheater. At one point in the match, each competitor sat on the mat daring the other to give them their best shot to the back in an entertaining back-and-forth. Shida hit “Unsheath the Katana”, her spinning kick to the head for the win. After the match, the two competitors shook hands and hugged.

FTR / HOB

A video recap of last week’s match on Collision between FTR and House of Black was shown with FTR winning but then getting beat down after the match. Tomorrow night FTR will team with Daniel Garcia to square off against all three male members of House of Black.

“I Always Win”

Renee Paquette interviewed Ruby Soho and Saraya backstage with Saraya showing her video of Harley Cameron and Angelo Parker kissing backstage (and conveniently paused just after the kiss began). Angelo Parker then came in singing Happy Birthday to Ruby with a cake and Ruby immediately smashed it into his face. Parker was shocked and confused as Saraya said “I always win” and Renee even cursed Parker out before storming off. Parker was then able to unpause the video revealing that he pushed Harley away in the video as Parker screamed “It’s not what it looks like!”.

Dark Order vs. Menard/Parker/Hager

The main event of the evening was The Dark Order with Negative One taking on Daddy Magic, Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager. Daddy Magic and Jake Hager were wearing matching red jackets whereas Angelo Parker’s face was still caked with cake. Dark Order was victorious after Negative One distracted Jake Hager with his purple hat allowing Dark Order to hit their finisher series for the win.
