A ‘Hair vs. Hair’ match is set for New Japan’s New Beginning in Sapporo card later this month.
Monday’s Road to New Beginning event at Korakuen Hall was headlined by a Faction Warfare Gauntlet match involving members of Los Ingobernables de Japon and Just Five Guys.
The elimination match came down to LIJ’s Yota Tsuji and Yuya Uemura of Just Five Guys. Tsuji came out on the winning end for his team after hitting the Gene Blast and scoring the pinfall.
Afterward, Uemura issued a challenge for the two men to put their hair on the line in a 1-on-1 match at the New Beginning in Sapporo event on February 24, which Tsuji accepted.
The post-match included Tsuji stating that one day he be coming to challenge LIJ leader and current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Tetsuya Naito.
