Bryan Danielson vs. Katsuyori Shibata

Collision kicked off with the dream match of Bryan Danielson taking on Katsuyori Shibata as the crowd chanted “holy sh*t” as the bell rang. This match started technical with both competitors exchanging submission stretches. This didn’t last long however as Danielson started shoving Shibata and exchanging chest slaps. A scary spot before the first break featured Shibata suplexing Danielson from inside the ring to the outside.

From there, things intensified with both men pounding each other in the corner.

Bryan Danielson picked up the win in just under twenty minutes with a roll-up after a series of near falls. The two shook hands and hugged after the match.

Julia Hart was victorious with the moonsault in under eight minutes. This meant that Julia Hart would be allowed ringside for the Wild Card match between House of Black and The Infantry.

Zak Knight

Zak Knight and Harley Cameron turned down Angelo Parker’s challenge for tonight and said it’ll be on his terms when they fight.

Daniel Garcia vs. Lee Moriarty

Next up was Shane Taylor Promotions’ Lee Moriarty taking on Daniel Garcia. Shane Taylor got involved in the match, nailing Garcia as Moriarty mimicked Garcia’s dance. Despite the interference, Garcia countered a Fang attempt and tapped Moriarty out with the Heel Hook. Matt Menard who had been on commentary for the match as per usual, jumped into the ring to celebrate with Garcia.

Darby Allin Update

A recap of Darby Allin getting destroyed by Bullet Club Gold was shown with the announcers providing the update that Darby had broken his foot and would be out of action for a considerable amount of time.

Pac vs. Komander Aaron Solo

Next was Pac’s first singles match in quite some time as he took on Aaron Solo who himself was making his Collision debut. Komander was explained to have been injured last night on Rampage so Solo filled in. “The Bastad” Pac won after the Black Arrow and a stretch submission in under four minutes. After the match, Pac got on the mic and addressed Tony Khan directly saying he was looking for trouble so “find me some, or I’ll find it myself.”

Danielson is Grateful

Bryan Danielson cut a backstage promo saying that he was grateful for wrestling Shibata tonight. He then moved on to Will Ospreay. Danielson said that Ospreay could never walk in his shoes.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Lance Archer

The next match of the evening was Claudio Castagnoli taking on Lance Archer.

Just as Claudio got Archer into the Giant Swing, The Righteous attacked, causing a rare AEW Disqualification. Bryan Danielson attempted to make the save but was quickly overwhelmed as the announcers explained that Jon Moxley was not in attendance tonight. Finally, Shibata ran down with a chair and ran off the heels.

Parker & Soho

Lexi Nair asked for Angelo Parker and Ruby Soho’s response to Zak Knight not wanting to have a match tonight and he said Ottawa was like a second home to him and his mother was in the crowd. Soho said that he was playing right into their trap and convinced Parker to back down for tonight.

Kyle O’Reilly Returns to Action

Next was the in-ring return of Kyle O’Reilly, taking on The Bounty Hunter Bryan Keith. Keith focused a lot of attention on O’Reilly’s surgically repaired neck.

Kyle O’Reilly won after a Sheer-Drop Brainbuster followed by an Armbar to which Bryan Keith immediately tapped out. Undisputed Kingdom came out immediately and put Kyle up on their shoulders. O’Reilly seemed surprised by their presence at first but then seemed to accept their adulation.

Deonna & Rosa

Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa cut a promo about their match this Wednesday against Toni Storm and Mariah May.

Wild Card Match

The final match of the evening was the Wild Card match in the AEW Tag Team Championship tournament with House of Black’s Buddy Matthews and Brody King taking on The Infantry. House of Black attacked The Infantry before the match began, decimating them at ringside. The Infantry stumbled into the ring and the bell rang as HOB continued their assault.

As House of Black was about to win, Mark Briscoe appeared and hit Matthews with a chair The Infantry would get the victory and move on to face FTR after a shock win.

Adam Copeland Reveals Spike

Adam Copeland was out for the final segment and brought with him the case marked “Spike”. Copeland addressed Christian and said that “Jay” was dead. Copeland said that Christian was on board with him coming to AEW as the plan was to end his career with his best friend. He then went on to say that while he was out he got a phone call from a sociopath named “Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy” and then revealed “Spike” to be aboard with many, many nails coming out of it. Copeland said he would make Christian Cage say “I Quit” this coming Wednesday on Dynamite.
