It looks like one of the wrestlers caught up in a recent wave of AEW cuts won’t be leaving after all.

During the ROH Supercard of Honor media call on Thursday, Tony Khan addressed the recent wave of releases by AEW. News broke Monday that AEW released 10 different talents, including Anthony Henry, The Boys, and Slim J.

Henry was dropped from his AEW deal while nursing a broken jaw that he suffered during an independent booking. When asked about this specific release, Khan mentioned that upon reflection he has decided to bring Henry back to the company. He said Henry will return to action once he has fully healed from his injury.

Henry commented on the news shortly after it started to circulate:

“What a week!” he said on X. “Obviously, I was not happy with what happened earlier in the week. However, I am ecstatic about being back! I believe in the locker room at AEW and cannot wait to be back in action. To those who voiced their support for me this week: thank you from the bottom of my heart. I never knew that what I do impacted so many. I’ve never had anyone rally behind me like that. It is an unreal feeling. I love you all. See you soon!”

Khan said that the releases came as the promotion remains focused on balancing a budget, allowing them to keep signing top names. He also said that he hopes to expand the promotion’s budget in the future.

“Any time we have to let someone go it’s a tough call,” he said. “We expanded the company greatly this year, and I can tell you that I definitely plan to continue its expansion … To do so, we need a war chest. It’s important to keep on the budget. I definitely value the people who work here and any time you have to make a cut it’s a tough call.”

A member of the press also asked Khan about releasing Dalton Castle’s sidekicks, The Boys. Brandon and Brent Tate were part of a rivalry between Castle and Johnny TV, which is expected to culminate this weekend at Supercard of Honor.

Both of The Boys have since replied to Khan, denying what he said. Brent posted that what he said was “Far from true,” and Brandon commented “Oh, it’s like that? Stand by..”

Khan said that releasing the duo was a tough call, but also claimed that they had not shown up to work on numerous occasions.
